Indonesia has about 5,000 public EV charging units, mostly on Java

A senior official of the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development said Indonesia has about 5,000 public EV charging units at 3,180 locations, based on data to July 2026. About 72% of the charging infrastructure is still concentrated on Java, and each unit serves roughly 47 to 48 electric vehicles. There were 3.25 million charging sessions between January and July 2026. The remarks came at the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum in Jakarta.
